About Me

Welcome to my concept art portfolio! Firstly, I feel that I should tell you about my origins, because many parts of my works are influenced by my upbringing. I was born to a family of Jewish-Soviet immigrants, so the first five years of my life were spent speaking Russian and eating Blinchiki.
Growing up I was scolded many time by teachers for daydreaming, but I blame reality for being too dull. I would imagine myself in many wonderous and fantastical tales, surrounded by favorite characters, and those are the kinds of stories I like to tell.

I put a lot of love and attention to detail into creating vibrant and immersive designs and concepts. When starting a project, I usually dive head first into a ton of research - from era appropriate attire, to bear habitats and all the way to "acceptable sums of pesos to put on a wanted posters". these would not be the most ridiculous google searches I've had along the years. What can I say? I love learning new things.

To notice something - to observe - takes patience that I haven't always had, but since I've obtained it my life became fuller. I don't want to wax poetic about "the rustle of the tree leaves" or any such thing but I draw from experiences and feelings that I romanticize. Like the first time I saw "Lord of the Rings", or when I listened to a song by Fleetwood Mac, or when I drove by teen bopping his head with his headphones on while walking at night. These moments might be unremarkable, but I think that's why they translate so well, and they make up the language of my art.
